Drew McIntyre has re-signed with WWE, a move that surprisingly was confirmed thanks to a recent social media post by The Rock.

In a post on Instagram, The Rock shared a video of someone delivering a Claymore to McIntyre while the WWE superstar was seemingly signing his new deal.

In a caption on the post, The Rock said he wished he could be there, but that he wanted he wanted McIntyre to have the Claymore, which he knows represents “everything” about McIntyre.

“Man of my word. As you’re a man of yours, congratulations [Drew McIntyre] on signing your new [WWE] deal,” reads the post. “As we talked about after your [WrestleMania 40] match, I know this Scottish Claymore represents everything that you, your family and your country embody.

“Alba gu bràth. As you know, I wanted to personally hand deliver this gift to you at your meeting with Nick Kahn, but I had warm cheat meals and chilled tequila waiting for me. Congrats again brother and cheers to hunger, passion, climbing that mountain and always entertaining our fans.”

McIntyre’s future with WWE had been the subject of many rumors, with fans wondering what the superstar would do when his contract expired in June following a WrestleMania 40 performance that saw him win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins, only to lose it moments later to Damian Priest, who cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
